National Yorkshire Pudding Day is the day of the year that we celebrate the British Sunday roast staple and in Yorkshire we take our savoury pudding very seriously. Take a trip to Malton and you will find the original recipe created in 1747 by Hannah Glasse.
Have you tuned into the Yesterday Channel and found yourself watching the auction of vintage vehicles? Then you will have discovered the programme Bangers & Cash. This is filmed at the Mathewson Garage in our very own Thornton le Dale in North Yorkshire. It attracts a following of avid fans and has placed the picturesque village firmly on the car enthusiast’s map.

If you are looking for a walk that offers big views and a bit of history too then a walk across The Hole of Horcum is one not to miss. It is one of the most spectacular features in the North York Moors National Park. It is a huge natural amphitheatre; 400 feet deep and more than half a mile across. It offers some of the most spectacular views within the North York Moors.
Every time you make a booking at High Oaks Grange, you will also help a tree get planted by our team in North Yorkshire. We’re aiming to plant thousands of trees as part of the fight against climate crisis.
Our goal at High Oaks Grange is to negate the carbon dioxide emissions generated by the day to day running of the business.
During the October half term we visited Flamingo Land, Yorkshire's ultimate theme park and zoo which is only 5 miles from High Oak's Grange and a great family attraction in North Yorkshire. Throughout the summer months, the brighter weather draws in the crowds but throughout the autumn months there is a much more relaxed vibe.
Halloween is just around the corner, and guests at High Oaks Grange are in a prime location to explore everything the North York Moors and beyond has to offer at this time of year.
