North Yorkshire Food and Drink Festival

The North Yorkshire Food & Drink Festival is coming to Pickering on the 16th and 17 July 2022.

This festival is set to be a great event for the whole family. With artisan markets, chef demos and street and drink vendors, it's set to be a foodie heaven. However, there is more than just food and drink to make this a great day out. With live music, family entertainment and even a funfair, it's set to be a fantastic festival.

From the organisers of the highly acclaimed Northern Leeds Festival, the North Yorkshire festival is set to be just as great with an incredible weekend of live cooking, showcasing the best of Yorkshire's produce and an international street food scene. The Yorkshire Food Guide will be hosting the live cookery theatre with both established and up and coming chefs.

The Chefs

Various chefs will be attending the festival over the weekend. Freya Cox from Great British Bake Off 2021 and Peter Garlick from The Talbot Hotel in Malton will be live in the Cookery Theatre on the Saturday and 2022 Masterchef winner Eddie Scott and Jon Appleby from The Feversham Arms will be live on the Sunday. Other chefs across the weekend include Kevin Fernandez, the director of Rafi's Spicebox, Tobias Quinn from Origin Social and Sam Pullen from The Bear at Carriages.

The Stalls

The artisan produce and crafts will be available on the 'Market Street' where you will be able to purchase various food and produce from curry spices, gourmet marshmallows and pies to specialist gins and liquor. There will also be craft stalls showcasing the very best of Northern crafters as well as art displays. The Street Food Arena will host over 25 different food stands from across the UK.

Independent bars will be supplying both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. You are sure to be able to get a good pint at the Ale House but if beer isn't your thing then there will be speciality cider, cocktails gin and wine bars.

Family Entertainment

Children will be kept happy all day long with magicians, street performances and games. They can even get chance to cook with the kiddycook sessions. There will also be face painting, bouncy castle and an arts and crafts area. A traditional funfair will also be at the festival.

Live Music

There will be live music across the weekend on the main stage with various artists including singers and musicians from across Yorkshire, showcasing a variety of musical styles and genres such as pop, soul, jazz and dance.

Artists include Will Forrester, jazz and classical saxophonist with over 20 years of experience, and The Groove Merchants, a 6-piece band from Leeds, playing soul and Motown classics. Also attending will be an acoustic singing harmony group Leaving Overmorrow, playing music from the 60s to the present. It's guaranteed to get you up and dancing.
