We like to keep High Oaks Grange a bang free zone as we have so many waggy friends staying with us but here is your guide to bonfires near by in case you are looking for a sparkling weekend.
Bonfire night is usually celebrated across the weekend so here is our round up of local bonfires and firework demonstrations in the local area;
Friday 4th November
Scampston Hall
A ‘drive in’ firework display will be held at Scampston Hall, near Malton. The display is set to 'Musical Movie Magic' soundtracks and begins 4pm to 9pm. Although you can 'drive in' you are also free to move around the site for food and entertainment. There will be space around your vehicle for you to view the display as well as tune into the soundtrack through your own car radio if you choose. New for this year is a children’s Fun Fair providing a traditional atmosphere and a food village, featuring fantastic local providers with high quality traditional and unique food.
Tickets can be purchased online and are priced at £15 for adults and £8 for children.
Sandburn Hall
Sandburn Hall is near York in Flaxton. It will hold a bonfire and a firework display. Gates open at 5pm and the bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm, with fireworks setting off at 7.30pm. On the night there will be hot food, face painting and amusement attractions.
Tickets are available online. Adult tickets are priced at £10.50 and children at £7.50 or a family ticket is £32.50.
Saturday 5th November
Helmsley
Located at the Helmsley Recreational Ground, Braxton Sprunt. The gates open at 6pm with a firework display being set off at 7pm. Prices are £5.00 per person, with under 5s free.
Slingsby
The small village of Slingsby, near Castle Howard is hosting a bonfire and firework display at the Slingsby Sportsfield, Church Lane. The bonfire will be lit at 6.40pm with the main firework display beginning at 7pm. There will also be a BBQ and refreshments available. Entrance is free (donations welcome).
Yedingham
The Providence Inn is hosting a bonfire which is lit at 6.30pm and fireworks at 7.30pm. There will be pie and peas, hot dogs, and baked potatoes available.

Scarborough
Visiting Scarborough North & South Bay beaches you'll come across fireworks and then you can visit Scarborough Open Air Theatre to warm up. Enjoy a drink and toast some marshmallows over our fire pits. Serving hot chocolate, mulled cider & wine and of course hotdogs.
Filey
Filey Lions is back with their annual bonfire and firework spectacular at West Avenue Park in Filey. The bonfire will be lit at 6pm with fireworks at 7pm. There is no charge for admission.
However you enjoy Bonfire Night remember to wrap up warm and stay safe. If you staying in one of our properties don't forget that we have dogs onsite as well as resident wildlife so we ask you not let off any fireworks on our estate.
